Exam Preparation Courses - EC - Boston

Our language school in Boston offers Test Preparation Courses for the IELTS, TOEFL, and Cambridge ESOL. These courses effectively prepare students for their important tests, which often serve as prerequisites for admission into English-speaking universities.

The test preparation courses focus on helping students get the best possible results on their tests. The IELTS and the TOEFL preparation courses take either 4 or 8 weeks and are comprised of 30 lessons. The Cambridge ESOL preparation course can either be a 10, 11, or 12-week course consisting of 30 lessons. The courses concentrate completely on the test’s requirements. The students use workbooks and learning materials specific to their particular English test. Each student will also receive a customized syllabus that takes their needs, strengths, and weaknesses into account.

The Test Preparation Courses are for those who wish to study at an English-speaking university or for those who wish to apply for positions that require passing these tests as proof of their language skills. Each certification will prove that you have the English skills necessary to enroll in English-speaking universities and will be able to function in multilingual working environments. All certifications are internationally recognized.

The TOEFL test (Test of English as a Foreign Language) has already been completed successfully by 20 million English-learners. The test is a requirement for foreign students who would like to study at an American university. The TOEFL is also internationally recognized and gives a good impression to future employers when they are looking for applicants with a high English level.

The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) certification serves as proof of good English skills in the Commonwealth. Foreign students who wish to study in Great Britain, South Africa, Malta, Australia or Canada should have an IELTS certification. In order to participate in the TOEFL and IELTS courses, students are required to have advanced English knowledge. Excluding American holidays, courses start each Monday. Each course can have a maximum of 14 participants.

The Cambridge ESOL language courses take place three times a year and run 10-12 weeks (find the dates here).  These courses are for students who hope to take the FCE (First Certificate of English, the CAE (Certificate in Advanced English), or the CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English). The IELTS certificate is highly valued in the Commonwealth countries and serves as official proof of language ability on a resume.

Students have the option of taking group courses and private lessons alongside these test preparation courses. This allows students to concentrate on their own individual language goals.
