Our Academic Year programme provides participants with an inexpensive long-term English course. This course is ideal for participants wishing to spend at least six months in San Francisco during their language travel. The extended stay in San Francisco will help immerse the participant in the American culture and will provide for the practical application of their English skills.
The programme will consist of at least 24 weeks and has been tailored to long-term stays in San Francisco. The course is provided in two intensities of 22 or 28 lessons, consisting of 50 minutes apiece, per week. The 22 lesson programme has two options, General English or exam preparation (e.g. Cambridge ESOL or TOEFL exam). The 28 lesson programme will consist of General English in the mornings and specialised courses in the afternoon. The specialised areas consist of English for business, English for tourism, English for art & design and exam preparation. If you choose the 22 lesson programme it is still possible to participate in these specialised courses for an additional charge.
During your stay in San Francisco you will be provided with an academic advisor who will be able to answer your questions or resolve issues that may occur. Furthermore, if you wish to take a 1 week break during the course it is possible once every 12 weeks. Your course will be shifted accordingly and will extend your course end date. Furthermore, discounted prices will be given for guests staying in a host family.
This course is an excellent opportunity for participants wishing to attend an American college or university. After completion of at least 6 weeks in advanced levels of the academic year or general English courses, students will be able to attend an American college or university for an undergraduate degree. Our language school in San Francisco is recognised by many partner colleges.
