Whether you plan to attend an English speaking university or English speaking company, then our exam preparation course is for you. All accredited English-speaking universities and the majority of English-speaking companies will require an English speaking competency test of some sort. The English speaking competency test will certify that you can speak the necessary level of English that is required by the university or employer.
Our language school in San Francisco provides exam preparation classes for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and the Cambridge ESOL exams (English for Speakers of Other Languages). The TOEFL exam is a requirement of all accredited American universities and by many international companies. The course is optimised for students that have an intermediate level of English and includes 20 or 28 lessons, consisting of 50 minutes, with a maximum class size of 12 students. Our intensive exam preparation course, consisting of 28 lessons in total, will be broken down into 20 lessons of exam preparation and 8 lessons of general English. Both courses focus on writing, speaking, comprehension, and reading which are all covered in the TOEFL exam. The course will be offered five times a year.
The Cambridge ESOL preparation consists of three different language courses which are the Upper-Intermediate (FCE), Advanced (CAE and Proficiency (CPE). Each exam certifies the student with a knowledge base from FCE as the upper-middle level and the CPE as the highest knowledge level. The courses focus on the central elements of writing, speaking, comprehension, and reading a foreign language. The course is offered in two intensities consisting of 20 or 28 lessons per week. As the Cambridge ESOL exam is offered three times a year our course will take place 8 to 12 weeks prior to the exam dates (March, June, and December).
The business exam TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) is designed for international students and participants in the business area. The test preparation will take 4 weeks to complete and can consist of either 20 or 28 lessons, consisting of 50 minutes apiece. The standard course of 20 lessons will consist of exam preparation for the TOEIC exam. The more intense program will add an additional 8 lessons of general English lessons to the standard 20 lessons of exam preparation. This exam preparation course requires at least an intermediate level of English and will begin on specific dates.
